good stability
good solubility
ease of weigh
good combustion
various color
no particulate issue
Usage
Flake dyes are suitable for different types paraffin and plant wax
pale shades 0.005% – 0.01% (vanilla or ivory)
medium shades 0.01 – 0.1% (red, blue, yellow)
dark shades 0.1% – 0.2%
e.g. for a medium shade, 0.1 – 1 kg dye flake can color about 1000 kg wax.
Note: some fragrances may react with flake dyes resulting in brownish or grayish cast. Please contact us for solution.
Temperature
The recommended temperature for manufacturing with flake dyes is about 180°F or 85°C. Working at higher temperatures or prolonged exposure to heat will degrade the colors, causing fading or color alteration.
Flake dyes are suggested to be used at a temperature higher than the dye dissolution temperature, so that the solubility of the liquid dye can be achieved, thus saving the time of stirring.
Storage
Flake dyes should be stored under ambient conditions with sealed containers. Each color should be separately packed from other colors.
Important: We recommend using UV inhibitor for all color applications. For perfect color matching and custom colors, please contact us for more detail.
