FLAKE PIGMENT
The biggest feature of our pigment is that it does not cross color. It is preffered coloring agent for over-dipping and craft candle application. Partially it can be used to increase dye brightness. Due to excellent color stabilization, it can be used in wax base which is easier discoloration and fade.
The pigment is not dissolved in liquid wax, it is dispersed in very fine particles in the wax base, so it is a great challenge for combustion. We constantly improve and perfect exsiting pigment through special formulations and dispersion techniques to meet customer demand for coloring and burning.
Benefits
good stability
good dispersible
ease of weigh
combustive by using proper wick
bright colored
Usage
flake pigment is suitable for different types paraffin and plant wax
pale shades 0.05% – 0.3% (vanilla or ivory)
medium shades 0.05 – 0.1% (red, blue, yellow)
dark shades 0.1% – 0.5%
over-dipping shades – 0.5% – 2%
e.g. for a medium shade, 0.5 – 5 kg pigment can color about 1000 kg wax.
Note: some fragrances may react with pigment resulting in brownish or grayish cast. Please contact us for solution.
Temperature
The recommended temperature for manufacturing with pigment is about 180°F or 85°C. Working at higher temperatures or prolonged exposure to heat will degrade the colors, causing fading or color alteration.
Flake pigment is dispersed in wax base. If standing for a long time, different degrees of stratification will occur. It is recommended to stir continuously when used.
Storage
Flake pigment should be stored under ambient conditions with sealed containers. Each color should be separately packed from other colors.
Important: We recommend using UV inhibitor for all color applications. For perfect color matching and custom colors, please contact us for more detail.
